Beijing, Sat, 08 Oct 2011 ANI

Beijing, Oct 8(ANI): Two Tibetans suffered injuries after they tried to immolate themselves in Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Thongan, 18 and Tenzin, 20, set themselves on fire at about 11:30 a.m. (local time) on October 7, Xinhua reports.

A county government spokesperson said both were former monks at the Kirti Monastery, and were dressed in civilian clothes when they tried to set themselves on fire.

They were rescued immediately and rushed to a local hospital for treatment, he added.

Chinese Police are investigating their motives behind self-immolation. (ANI)
