Nevada (US), Oct 04 (ANI): The Sydney Shakti Temple in Australia, which used to be Old Toongabbie Uniting Church, now regularly performs poojas, abhishekams and aartis, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) on Monday, applauded efforts of Temple management and area community for realizing this wonderful Temple complex.
Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, further added that it was important to pass on Hindu spirituality, concepts and traditions to coming generations amidst so many distractions in the consumerist society and hoped that this Temple would help in this direction.
He stressed that instead of running after materialism; we should focus on inner search and realization of Self and work towards achieving moksh (liberation), which was the goal of Hinduism.
The temple offers forum and space for worship, prayers, teachings, and other religious-philosophical activities. It is planning to build its own car park and make some other alterations.
It organizes poojas at devotees' homes also. Its website suggests: "Before visiting the temple make sure you eat vegetarian food that day and wear clean decent clothes". (ANI)
