Karachi, Sept 22(ANI): Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) party chief Bashir Khan Qureshi has alleged that the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had plotted to kill him.
"Officials of the Sindh Rangers and police were directed to disarm me so that I could have been killed easily," Qureshi said, while addressing the Press Club.
Qureshi said though he did not possess any unlicensed weapon, Rangers seized his weapons and has not returned them even after one week during the Gulshan-e-Hadeed operation.
"I have eight licences and ten weapons, but Rangers seized all weapons and defamed me as if I was possessing illegal weapons," he said.
He slammed the Pakistan Government for attacking "peace-loving and non-violent" people of Sindh.
He also warned against any attempt to divide Sindh on administrative or other grounds.
He alleged that "the PPP had never been sincere with the Sindhis and always followed polices of the Punjab".
He also criticised Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif and said he did sympathise with the people of Sindh and had arrived in the province for securing political gains.
Qureshi claimed that his party believed in pursuing a non-violent policy
"Our leader GM Syed had announced that before 1954 those people who migrated to Sindh from India are our brothers. They are welcomed to live here. We still consider Urdu-speaking people as our brothers," he added.(ANI)
