Jakarta, Sept 19(ANI): Indonesian women wearing colourful mini-skirts and tight leggings are protesting against Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo's statement blaming provocatively dressed women for sexual assaults.
Bowo had urged Indonesian women not to wear revealing clothes to avoid being raped or victimised, The Scotsman reports.
Scores of women carried placards saying "Don't tell us how to dress, tell them not to rape", and "My body is not porn, instead it's your dirty mind".
The protestors called on the Indonesian government and police to take more concrete steps to protect women and help sexually assaulted victims. (ANI)
