Beijing, Sept 16(ANI): Two Shanghai- based lead-emitting companies have been asked to stop production after 25 children suffered lead poisoning.
According to the municipal government's information office, 25 children were diagnosed with excessive lead in their blood in Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone after which Shanghai Johnson Controls International Battery Co. and Shanghai Xinming Auto Accessories Co. were asked to halt production.
According to Xinhua, at least 12 patients have been hospitalized and the 13 others received clinical treatment, the ministry statement said.
Zhao Jianyi, 3, one of the lead poisoning patients, is diagnosed with 185 micro grams of lead per litre of blood. (ANI)
