Beijing, Sept 13(ANI): Chinese Police have arrested 32 persons for producing and selling illegal cooking oil in 14 provinces.
They seized over 100 tonnes of oil made from leftovers recovered from gutters behind restaurants, China's Ministry of Public Security said.
According to Xinhua, police began probing the incident in March this year after Zhejiang Province's Ninghai County residents reported that a group of people was buying leftover oil from restaurants.
Police at Zhejiang, Shandong and Henan jointly removed six underground production sites and two illegal lines in the provinces.
The Ministry vowed to eliminate the illegal cooking oil market in the country. (ANI)
