Washington, Sept 7 (ANI): Over 1,000 homes have reportedly been destroyed after one of the devastating wildfire outbreaks hit Texas on Tuesday for the third day.
Over 180 fires have erupted in the past week across the rain-starved Lone Star State, and nearly 600 of the homes destroyed since then were lost in one catastrophic blaze in and around Bastrop, near Austin, Fox News reports.he Tropical Storm Lee's winds, leading to the blaze has reportedly burnt over 45 square miles over the weekend.
Thousands of people have been evacuated, while four deaths have been reported so far, the report said.
Some of the victims of the disaster complained to have lost almost 'everything'. One of them said that her two-story colonial home in a housing development near Bastrop was completely destroyed.
Meanwhile, Texas Governor Rick Perry cut short a presidential campaign trip to South Carolina to deal with the crisis. (ANI)
