Abu Dhabi, Sep 5(ANI): The United Arab Emirates Police have found three highly decomposed bodies of an Indian family in their house in Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.
Police said the husband and the wife allegedly committed suicide after hanging their eight year-old daughter.
The deceased family's relatives and family friends said they might have committed suicide due to financial problems, the Gulf News reports.
The bodies of Anil Kumar Nair, 44, his wife Sreeja, 31, and daughter Anusree, 8, were found at their residence in Julan area in Ras Al Khaimah.
A relative said Sreeja was six months pregnant.
According to Criminal Investigation Department Directer Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, initial investigations pointed to financial problems as a reason for committing suicide.
Al Hadidi said police rushed to the spot following a tip off that an awful odour was emanating from the house.
He further said the body of the father was hanging in the hall, while his wife's body was found hanging in a room and the body of their daughter in another room.
The bodies were transferred to the forensics laboratory for an autopsy, the official said. The case will be transferred to special authorities to complete other procedures, Al Hadidi added.
An Indian, Jaffer Al Deen Abdul Salam, said the family had been suffering financial crisis and they had not paid rent for a few months.
Nair, who was running his own trailer service company suffered liabilities due to a downturn in his business.
"I was asking him to give an application in writing which I could have handed over to the Indian community organisations and philanthropists, but he was reluctant to do so," Salam said.(ANI)
