Lahore, Sept 1(ANI): Sardar Latif Khosa, the Governor of Pakistan's Punjab province, has expressed his dissatisfaction with investigations into the Shahbaz Taseer abduction case.
Shahbaz, son of slain former Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, was abducted on gunpoint by unknown men from Lahore's Gulburg area last Friday.
Recently, Khosa had said that the blame for Shahbaz's abduction rested squarely on the provincial government.
"Yes, there appears to be a direct involvement of elements in the Punjab government in the incident as Shahbaz Taseer has been abducted in broad daylight from a busy road, and if the Punjab government is really sincere in recovering him, it can do it within hours," he had said.
He had added in the same breath that if there was no involvement of the Punjab government, it nevertheless "exposes its inefficiency".
However, Khosa took the occasion of Eid to ease tensions between himself and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, issuing a call to bridge their differences, although he expressed his dissatisfaction with the abduction case probe.
Talking to media persons at the Governor House in Lahore, Khosa said that the Pakistan Government was fully cooperating with the Punjab Government to safely recover Shahbaz, The Express Tribune reports.
He urged the Punjab Government to use the latest investigative systems and technologies to resolve the Taseer kidnapping case, and also stressed upon the need to improve security in the province. (ANI)
