Top Indian official hurt in mishap in Northwestern Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 30(ANI): A top government official of Indian origin, Narayanan Gobalakrishnan was seriously injured while his mother-in-law died in a mishap when a balcony railing on which they were leaning gave way in Langkawi in Northwestern Malaysia.

 

Gobalakrishnan, his six-year-old son and his in-laws fell 3 metres onto a rocky beach at the resort, the Star reports.

 

Narayanan, who suffered spinal injuries, is currently undergoing treatment in Singapore.

 

"When they were walking along the (veranda at the) chalet, the four of them were leaning against the balcony railing while his (Narayanan's) wife took pictures, " Kuala Triang Police Chief Amran Ahmad said.

 

"His father-in-law broke an arm and leg and his son broke his arm," Amran added. (ANI)
