London, August 29 (ANI): The former girlfriend of Colonel Gaddafi's son has opened up about the "denial" the regime was in during its final days.
Playboy centrefold Talitha van Zon said she saw Gaddafi's fifth son Mutassim, 35, shortly after the uprising - and found a different scene to the greed and expense of their three-month fling.
"He had a beard and was on a couch strewn with automatic weapons," the Mirror quoted her as saying.
"He was guarded by unsmiling 16-year-old boys with -sub-machine guns," she added.
She also claims that he told her Libya was responsible for the Lockerbie atrocity as revenge for a US bomb raid.
The Dutch model also met him for a drink the night before the siege of Tripoli.
"There was no fear they were going to lose," she said.
"I think he was a little bit in denial," she added.
The next day she was ambushed by the rebels and feared they would kill her, making a desperate escape by leaping from the hotel's balcony. (ANI)
