Tehran, Aug 29 (ANI): An Iranian man, who was accused of killing a scientist on behalf of Israel, has been sentenced to death.
Majid Jamali-Fashi pleaded guilty to murdering Massoud Ali-Mohammadi in January 2010, the Telegraph reports.
According to the prosecution, Jamali-Fashi travelled to Israel to receive training from the Mossad intelligence agency, and was paid 73,000 pounds for assassinating the scientist.
The paper quoted a judiciary spokesman, as saying that Jamali-Fashi had been condemned to death for 'waging war against God' and being 'corrupt on Earth'.
Eleven months after the bomb attack that killed Ali-Mohammadi as he set off to work, two other scientists were targeted.
Iran believed the attacks on scientists were the work of enemies that wished to stop it developing nuclear technology, the paper said. (ANI)
