Tripoli, August 28 (ANI): Around 53 dead bodies have been found in a warehouse in the Libyan capital Tripoli after reportedly being kiled earlier this week.
According to Sky News, the scene looked like a mass grave. Sky News' correspondent, Stuart Ramsay, said he had counted the bodies in a burned-out warehouse in southern Tripoli, and estimated there were 53.
Ramsay, while reporting from the scene showed the building where eyewitnesses, who escaped the massacre said people were murdered by pro-Gaddafi forces on August 23 and 24. He said he had also seen the bodies of two soldiers, with their hands tied behind their backs.
Witnesses said 150 people were murdered at the site as rebel forces fought to take control of Tripoli. Several reports said most of those bodies found where those of men and had gunshot wounds.
"We will hold to account anyone, on either side, who commits atrocities," International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell was quoted, as saying. (ANI)
