Kuala Lumpur, Aug 28(ANI): Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) President G. Palanivel has called on Malay -Indian sportspersons to work harder emulate their predecessors.
Palanivel said Malay-Indian athletes' performance of late has been below par as compared with former champions like 'Flying Doctor' Tan Sri Dr M. Jegathesan, Datuk M. Rajamani, who were record- breakers.
"Therefore, local sports organisations should focus on providing good coaches, trainers and facilities to produce top-notch athletes," he said on the occasion of opening the three-day Malaysia-Tamilnadu-Singapore Indian Youth Games.
The games, organized by the Malaysian Indian Youth Development Foundation (MIYDF), kicked off in Subang Jaya in Selangor on August 27, the Star reports. (ANI)
