New York, Aug 13 (ANI): American television courtroom drama 'Law and Order' is reportedly planning to air an episode based on the assault case of former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, showing a prominent European being arrested over rape charges.
Italy-born veteran screen and stage actor Franco Nero, who appeared in last year's film "Letters to Juliet" with his wife Vanessa Redgrave, stars as an Italian dignitary at the centre of a criminal sex scandal, The Telegraph reports.
Although a source close to the show said that the episode was inspired by the sensational Strauss-Kahn case, a spokesperson for the production company behind "Law and Order" claimed the show to be pure fiction.he episode is scheduled to be aired on September 21.
Strauss-Kahn, a likely candidate for the French presidency at the time of his arrest in May, was accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid during his stay in New York.
He, however, has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges, and his lawyers accuse the housekeeper, West African immigrant Nafissatou Diallo, of trying to make money out of their wealthy client, which she strongly denies. (ANI)
