Washington, Aug 11 (ANI): Texas Governor Rick Perry has declared that he will contest the 2012 presidential race.
His spokesman, Mark Miner, confirmed that Perry would travel to three key early states - South Carolina, New Hampshire and Iowa - this weekend.
Following his speech in Charleston, Perry will meet with South Carolina Republican officials before heading to a house party in Greenland, New Hampshire, where he meet with Granite State voters, ABC News reports.
Reports have suggested that on Sunday, he would address at the Black Hawk Republicans' Lincoln Day Dinner Fundraiser in Waterloo, Iowa.
Perry, the longest serving Governor of the country, has never lost a race during his nearly three decades in public office. (ANI)
