London, August 10 (ANI): Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver took to Twitter to express his anger after one of his restaurants was ransacked in the London riots.
Jamie's Italian, a 270-seat restaurant, was targeted as hooligans rampaged through the Birmingham's famous Bullring shopping centre on Monday night.
Oliver made his comments as news emerged that one of Notting Hill's most upmarket restaurants was also pillaged by rioters who robbed terrified diners.
"So sad to see what's happening in UK with these riots! All gone mad. time to get our country back. Now we need to come down hard on these idiots", the Daily Mail quoted him as tweeting.
"Sadly my restaurant in Birmingham got smashed up, windows all gone, whole area closed, can't open, staff and customers all safe!! Thankfully," he added.
While he had some bad luck in Birmingham, according to the BBC, his Recipease cooking school in Clapham Junction was only one of two shops in the area that weren't looted. (ANI)
