'I don't have control of the plane at all' were last words of Air France pilots as jet crashed into

London , Tue, 09 Aug 2011 ANI

London, Aug 9 (ANI): The astonishing conversation between the two pilots of Air France jet that crashed into the ocean during a flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris in June 2009, has now been released, highlighting that poorly-trained pilots were responsible for the disaster.

'What should we do?' were among the panicked last words of two pilots as they struggled to save their passenger jet that plunged into the sea at 180-feet-per-second.

The conversation between 37-year-old David Robert and Pierre-Cedric Bonin, 32, was retained by a 'black box' fight recorder found two years after the accident, the Daily Mail reports.

It has now been released as part of a report into the crash that ultimately blames the two pilots for the disaster that calimed lives of 228 lives, including five Britons and three young Irish doctors.

"What do you think? What do you think? What should we do?' said Robert.

"I don't have control of the plane, I don't have control of the plane at all," Bonin replied, as a stall alarm resounds for the sixth time in two minutes, the paper said.

Marc Dubois, the 58-year-old captain of the plane left his two subordinates in charges, as he went on a routine break at the time.

This was despite the fact that Dubois had 11,000 flying hours behind him, compared to Robert's 6500 and Bonin's 2900, the paper said.

"So is he (Dubois) coming?" Robert said.

"Hey what are you ..." Dubois said when he returned, to which Robert replied, "What's happening? I don't know, I don't know what's happening."

The crew never discuss the possibility that everyone on board is about to crash and die.

The last words from a calm sounding Captain Dubois were 'Ten degrees pitch.'

Air France argued that the pilots were baffled by numerous confusing signals from the Airbus, while the plane manufacture insisted that it was responding properly, the paper said. (ANI)
