Melbourne, Aug 7 (ANI): Australian pet owners still stick to pooches as their favourite pets whereas cats reign supreme in the US and UK.
Dogs' population in Australian homes outnumber their fierce feline rivals by almost a million.
"I think traditionally Australia tends to be a dog-loving nation," the Daily Telegraph quoted Bondi Vet's Dr Chris Brown as saying.
"We glorify dogs in Australia, which is great. It's become a bit of a cultural thing that we pride ourselves on," he said.
Dr Brown said cats have a bad reputation in Australia with most people branding felines as selfish and native wildlife killers. (ANI)
