Islamabad, Aug 7 (ANI): A bomb destroyed at least 13 tankers carrying fuel for NATO troops in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Saturday in a bid to disrupt supplies, police have said.
A total of 28 NATO oil tankers were parked at a terminal on the outskirts of Peshawar during the time of the explosion, triggering a fire that engulfed 13 of the vehicles, The Dawn reports.
"We are trying to move away other oil tankers. We are not clear whether the bomb was planted in the terminal or with a tanker," a local police official said.
"Sixteen tankers were completely destroyed," he said, adding that there were no reports of any casualties.
Till reports last came in, another senior police officer in Peshawar had said that three explosions were heard before the fire swept through the parked tankers, adding that fire fighters were trying to control the blaze. (ANI)
