Washington, Aug 5 (ANI): United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has in an interview with a magazine spoken out about her life as a politician.
Clinton, 63, revealed in the September issue of Glamour magazine that she did not worry about coming off soft due to her work with women and children.
"One thing I've never been called is soft, so I don't really worry about that," the Politico quoted her as saying.
"I believe in being as authentic as possible, and this is how I see the world.... I'm convinced that women's rights are the unfinished business of the twenty-first century," she said.
And on being a woman in politics, she said it is not an easy job, and that one has to have a pretty tough skin to survive.
"I'm not going to mislead anybody. Politics is really hard. And it is harder for women. There's a double standard, and you can't complain about it," she said.
"You just have to accept it, and be smart enough to navigate it. And you have to have a pretty tough skin," she added. (ANI)
