Melbourne, July 30 (ANI): A controversial advertising billboard in Australia has been banned following public outcry.
The ad for The Tool Shop at Coopers Plains features three women holding tools with the slogan "Imagine all 3 at once? We can..."
The Advertising Standards Bureau decided to remove the billboard, which currently stands at the intersection of Beaudesert and Kerry Roads, after receiving 25 complaints.
Though the image didn't hold any offence, it appeared that the text could be read as reference to both being able to purchase all three tools at once, and to having sex with all three women at once.
The board upheld the complaints after finding that the advertisement breached section 2.1 of the code of ethics as it "discriminated or vilified women".
"In response to the complaint about our billboard we believe that we have treated the issue of sex with sensitivity according to section 2.3 in the AANA code of ethics," the Courier Mail quoted the advertiser as saying.
"The women are not provocatively dressed but rather dressed in the required safety uniforms for each trade qualification," the advertiser added. (ANI)
