Kiev, July 29 (ANI): Ukrainian authorities have said that at least 16 miners were killed and two others were injured in a blast at a coal mine in the eastern part of the country on Friday.
The explosion took place at the Suhodolskaya-Vostochnaya mine in the Lugansk region.
Xinhua quoted the emergency ministry as saying in a statement that a total of 28 miners were working there at the time, adding that its minister is coordinating the rescue efforts.
It further informed that the two wounded people were hospitalized with burns and injuries.
An investigation is now being carried out to find the exact cause of the blast. (ANI)
