Kabul, July 27 (ANI): The Taliban reportedly forced a young Afghan boy to step on a bomb.

According to Fox News, local Afghans said the Taliban might have been testing a new bomb made from a soda bottle.

Six to eight-year-old Jalil was picking grapes with his brother when the Taliban, told the boy to step on the bomb.

It blew off his right leg below the knee, leaving hamburger on the stump, and fractured his leg.

Afghans brought Jalil to the nearby American base called COP Kolk, where soldiers treated him.

Over the past several years there have been news stories in Afghanistan about the Taliban choosing young boys as their targets.

An eight year-old boy was recently hanged by the Taliban in Helmand province, after the boy's father-a police commander, refused to comply with the militants' demands.

While child executions by the Taliban are not common, children often fall victim to Taliban militants when they carry out attacks.

The Taliban also routinely use youngsters as suicide bombers.

Two months ago, four civilians were killed and 12 others were injured when a 12-year-old suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowded market in eastern Afghanistan. (ANI)
