Washington, July 23(ANI): The United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested twelve people for allegedly having links with Kashmiri American Council (KAC) executive director Ghulam-Nabi Fai, who has been accused of acting as a Pakistani spy in the US.
According to the News, the FBI conducted raids at different places on Friday after arrest warrants were issued for the suspicious persons.
The identity of the arrested people remains unknown.
The FBI claims that Fai and a second man, Zaheer Ahmad, a 63-year-old US citizen and resident of Pakistan, had channelled million of dollars from Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to influence members of the US Congress on the Kashmir issue.
Fai and Ahmad are accused of having conspired to act as agents of a foreign government without that interest being declared and falsifying, concealing and covering up the fact.
Both are US citizens and face a prison sentence of five years if convicted. (ANI)
