Washington, July 22 (ANI): A nine-year-old American boy has become the world's youngest solo hot-air balloonist.
Bobby Bradley set the record when he took to the skies high above the New Mexico Desert, south of Albuquerque, in an ultralight-type balloon.
Bradley did so despite his fear of heights, the Daily Mail reports.
"It was a nice, calm day. I had other balloons around me. All my friends were watching from the ground. It was beautiful and awesome. I loved it," the paper quoted Bradley, as saying.
Bradley started training to be a hot-air balloon pilot at just four years old.
As a toddler, he has been afraid of the heat and noise of the burners as he watched his dad, world-renowned and record-breaking balloon pilot Troy Bradley.
But as soon as his father started taking him on trips, Bobby began asking about flying solo.
Under American aviation law, the legal age for piloting a standard-sized balloon is 14. (ANI)
