Wills-Kat's 'love jet' offered them a real haven for privacy during first tour

London, July 10 (ANI): The royal 'love jet' that has been a refuge for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their tour of Canada is being described as "no more luxurious than a good motor home", but it has certainly served as a paradise for the newly married couple who have been craving for some privacy.

According to the pilot who has been shuttling the royal couple around, they have sought refuge in the humble surroundings of the aircraft, dubbed the "love jet" by royal watchers, reports the Daily Express.

Lieutenant Colonel Andy Cook said: "The amount of pressure and the amount of people who are always watching the Prince and the Duchess at all times, I think our two tiny rooms in this aircraft are a real haven.

"I tell you, when they walk on the aeroplane, they go in there and the door closes and except for one steward that serves them personally, if they want a coffee or something like that, they are on their own. And they are no longer the Duke and Duchess and they are just a newly married couple."

William and Kate have two small rooms, the size of a tiny den, set up the same way as when Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper uses the aircraft for official business.

The "state room" is actually two rooms - an office with four business class seats, a desk with two computers and a satellite phone and a three-seater couch.

The other, more private, room has a 14in television with a built-in DVD player and two sofas that can be converted into beds.

Kate and William said farewell to the jet after landing in Los Angeles on Friday and will take a scheduled BA flight back to London on Sunday. (ANI)
