Islamabad, July 10(ANI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said his party's counterterrorism strategy would focus on a political approach, with force being the last and the least preferred option.
"We will put an end to all military operations and will withdraw our troops from FATA and leave it to the Frontier Corps to take over the responsibility of law and order", the Daily Times quoted Imran, as telling a press conference.
A grand peace jirga would be held to bring about harmony through reconciliation, if the PTI comes to power, he added.
Imran announced his party's decision to form a commission to ascertain human rights violations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Swat, and to compensate the victims and their relatives.
He vowed to shut down all US bases and intelligence centres within three months of coming to power, saying the visas of all foreign security operatives would be cancelled, and that they would be repatriated within seven days.
The PTI chief also announced that there would be an immediate stop to all US drone attacks, and that any breach of Pakistan's sovereignty would automatically result in the blocking of all NATO supplies and an end to all forms of cooperation with America in the ongoing war on terror. (ANI)
