Peshawar, July 8(ANI): The Pakistan Army has proposed a three-tier mechanism in order to secure the Pak-Afghan border.
These steps were proposed during a meeting of the working group of Pakistani, Afghan and US military commanders held in Peshawar to discuss the recent spike in tensions emanating from incursions along the Pak-Afghan border.
The proposed mechanism includes direct hotline contact between the Pakistan Army and the Afghan National Army.
The Pakistan Army also recommended frequent Border Flag Meetings between local commanders and interaction/jirgas between Maliks of bordering villages living on either side of the border, The Nation reports.
The working group members also discussed the findings of the June 15 Ziarat border post incursion investigation. (ANI)
