Beijing, Mar 25(ANI): China's gross domestic product (GDP) accounted for 9.5 percent of the world's total in 2010, the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) has said.
The NBS also said that China's 2010 GDP was equal to 40.2 percent of the figure of the United States, which is up from 2005's 17.9 percent.
However, the per capita GDP of China still lagged behind most of the countries.
Citing an estimate of the World Bank, the NBS said that China's per capita gross national income (GNI) reached 3,650 dollars in 2009, lower than 124 other countries, the Xinhua news agency reports.
In 2005, 127 countries had higher per capita GNI than China.
The World Bank report also said that China's per capita GNI share of the world average jumped from 24.8 percent in 2005 to 41.8 percent in 2009. (ANI)
