London, March 22 (ANI): A sumo wrestler from the U.S. has broken the Guinness World Record for Heaviest Person to Complete a Marathon.
Kelly Gneiting, who calls himself the 'Fat Man', completed all 26 miles in record time.
Gneiting, from a Navajo reservation in northeastern Arizona, weighed exactly 400lbs when he started the Los Angeles Marathon this weekend, but by the end he weighed just 396.2lbs.
The six-foot former sumo champ beat back torrential rain before crossing the finish line in 9 hours, 48 minutes and 42 seconds - beating his 2008 record of 11:52:11when he weighed 275lbs.
"I'd like to see the Kenyan improve his marathon time by two hours," the Daily Mail quoted him as telling the Los Angeles Times.
"I was really struggling in the last five miles, but I said to myself, 'If I have to crawl, I will," he added.
The 40-year-old was always confident about his chances.(ANI)
