New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has termed the rape and murder of a 24-year-old Indian student in Australia as unfortunate, and said that the government is closely monitoring the case to ensure that justice is done.
"This is a very very unfortunate incident, which has been reported. And, I have asked... we are getting a report from our ambassador. We are closely following it up... monitoring it... and we will see that justice is done," Krishna told reporters outside Parliament today.
The body of Tosha Thakkar, who was studying accounting at the Sydney College of Business and IT, was found stuffed inside a suitcase near a canal in Sydney last week.
The suitcase was spotted by construction workers on March 11 in a canal near Meadowbank Park.
Daniel Stani-Reginald, 19, has been charged with the murder and aggravated sexual assault of Thakkar. (ANI)
