China to focus on revising and improving laws: Wu Bangguo

Beijing, Mar.10 (ANI): Wu Bangguo, the chairman China's Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, has pledged to focus more on revising and improving laws and enact accompanying regulations.

 

Wu, China's top legislature, said: "Our legislative tasks are still painstaking and arduous, and legislative work has to get stronger not weaker."

 

He said that the legislative work of the NPC Standing Committee was to revise laws incompatible with economic and social development, and also to enact in a timely manner laws vital for pushing forward scientific development and promoting social harmony.

 

According to him, laws to be revised this year are: Budget Law, Law Concerning the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases, Criminal Procedure Law, Civil Procedure Law, Civil Procedure Law, Organic Law of Local Governments, and Military Service Law.

 

NPC Standing Committee further plans to enact on the Law on Mental Health, Law on Administrative Coercion, and Law on Entry and Exit Administration, The Xinhua reports.

 

Wu also said the NPC Standing Committee would urge relevant departments to enact accompanying regulations, and do the follow-up work of reviewing laws and regulations well. (ANI)
