Peshawar, Mar 9(ANI): Five militants were killed and several others wounded in a US drone attack on a compound in Data Khail area of Pakistan's South Waziristan Agency.
Sources said the strike took place in Landidog village, twenty kilometres west of Wana, the main town in the South Waziristan tribal region, The Nation reports.
The militants were using the compound owned by a local tribesman Fazal Karam, the sources added.
According to tribal sources, officials also confirmed the Tuesday attack and casualties but said: "Identities of those killed in the strike were not yet known."
It was not immediately clear if there were any high-profile victims in the drone attack.
However, the US did not confirm the attack. Drone strikes are highly unpopular among the Pakistani people, who see foreign military action on their soil as violation of the national sovereignty. (ANI)
