Joe Brooks, Eliot Spitzer two of Manhattan Madam's worst clients

Washington, Feb 9 (ANI): Composer Joseph Brooks, who won an Oscar for composing 'You Light Up My Life', has been revealed to have been an avid but deeply troublesome customer of the New York escort service that also provided women to disgraced former governor Eliot Spitzer.

According to the New York Post, 'Manhattan Madam' Kristin Davis claimed that Brooks, 72, hired "hundreds" of young-looking escorts from 2005 until 2008 and paid 1,000 dollars to 1,600 dollars per hour for their company.

But Brooks, whose son Nicholas, 24, is being held over charges he strangled ex-girlfriend Sylvie Cachay in the Soho House hotel, allegedly got his jollies having some escorts read him a cheesy script about him being "handsome".

He was periodically blacklisted by Davis for playing head games with the women, trying to stiff them out of money and hiding their purses, and he also had a tendency to abruptly send them away if they looked much older than 18.

"Spitzer and Joe Brooks were very much alike, and those were probably two of the worst clients that I had," Fox News quoted Davis as saying.

"They both have very little respect for the girls that are working, and they are steamrollers who do whatever they want," she stated.

Brooks was indicted in 2008 and charged with raping and sexually assaulting 13 aspiring actresses he allegedly lured to New York after advertising movie auditions on Craigslist.

Assistant District Attorney Maxine Rosenthal said January 28 that 12 new witnesses offered to testify against Brooks at his trial.

Brooks was expected to be back in court for more pre-trial discussions March 4. (ANI)
