'JuD clear example of banned outfit working under new name in Pak Punjab'

Lahore , Mon, 07 Feb 2011 ANI

Lahore, Feb 7(ANI): The Sunni Ittehad Council, a religious organization in Pakistan, has said that Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) remains a clear example of a banned outfit working under a different name under the nose of the Pakistan Punjab government.

Sunni Ittehad Council spokesman Maulana Zia-ul-Haq said that the government should curtail the operations of terrorist outfits instead of only banning their names.

"The carelessness of the Punjab government was the main reason behind the continuous terrorists attacks on shrines," the Daily Times quoted Zia-ul-Haq, as saying.

He also claimed that it was impossible to end terrorism from the country until ministers like Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, were sitting in the corridors of power while having strong ties with the banned terrorist outfits.

The JuD has been working under its new name "Falah-e-Insaniyat" after being banned following the November 26, 2008, Mumbai terror attacks. (ANI)
