London, Feb 6 (ANI): FBI has reportedly launched new investigations that focus its attention on London after it emerged that three Qatari men linked to the 9/11 terror attacks had gone unnoticed.
Last week, documents released by whistle-blowing website Wikileaks revealed that these men flew from London to New York on August 15, 2001, for a surveillance mission on the World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty and the White House, the Daily Express reports.
The FBI had also found that ten days later they flew to Los Angeles, and stationed themselves at a hotel near the airport. Hotel staff told investigators that they saw pilot uniforms in their room along with computer print outs detailing the pilot names, flight numbers and times and packages addressed to Syria, Afghanistan, Jerusalem and Jordan.
On September 10 they were booked on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Washington, but failed to board. The following day the same Boeing 757 aircraft was hijacked by five terrorists and crashed into the Pentagon, it added.
These terrorists named Meshal Alhajri, Fahad Abdulla and Ali Alfehaid, took a flight back to London after the attacks before fleeing to Qatar. Their current location is unknown.
Investigators are now reportedly looking for a fourth suspect, Mohamed Al Mansoori from the United Arab Emirates, who had allegedly supported the terrorist cell while they were in the US.
Scotland Yard said it is not involved in the new FBI probe, which was started after the WikiLeaks revelations. (ANI)
