Lahore, Jan 29(ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said he considers himself not less than a prime minister even without being on the post officially.
Nawaz made these remarks while addressing a book launching ceremony at a local hotel in Lahore.
"It is the foremost mission of me and my party to re-build Pakistan," Geo TV quoted the former prime minister, as saying.
He added that they would live and die for Pakistan and not make any compromises on the country's interests, whether they got elected to power or not.
He also claimed that attempts were made to involve him and his brother Shahbaz Sharif in the assassination of late Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, but Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani helped foil those bids.
"Whispers of building a case of section 302 against me and Shahbaz Sharif were being heard," said Nawaz, adding that this, however, did not deter him from presenting his national agenda before the government.
"Now all I can do is pray that the government put it into action," the PML-N chief said, adding that some points of the ten-point agenda can be implemented even before 45 days. (ANI)
