Iranian book eulogizing Islamic suicide bombers, militants found in Arizona desert

Washington, Fri, 28 Jan 2011 ANI

Washington, Jan 28 (ANI): A book published in Iran containing short biographies of Islamic suicide bombers and other Islamic militants who died carrying out attacks has been reportedly discovered in the Arizona desert, just north of the U.S.-Mexican border.

Fox New quoted US authorities as saying that an American Border Patrol agent who was patrolling a route known for smuggling illegal immigrants, and drugs found the book titled "In Memory of Our Martyrs" from the Casa Grande substation.

"The book also includes letters from suicide attackers to their families, as well as some of their last wills and testaments. Each biographical page contains the terrorist's name, date of death, and how they died," the internal U.S. Customs and Border Protection documents, said.

The authorities further claimed that the book appeared to be exposed to desert conditions for several weeks, adding that no arrests could be made as there was no one present in the area when the book was spotted.

"At this time, DHS does not have any credible information on terrorist groups operating along the Southwest border," a Department of Homeland Security official said in a statement.

In recent years, U.S. officials' statements including that of FBI director Robert Mueller have raised concerns over "OTMs" or illegal immigrants who have crossed the southwest border at alarming rates, the report said.

The Department of Homeland Security had arrested thousands of detainees from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Yemen last year, it added. (ANI)
