Washington, Jan 22 (ANI): Newt Gingrich, a possible candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, has said he believes that the Barack Obama presidency is gradually becoming "the third term of the Clintons," as many of Bill Clinton's former staffers are part of the Obama administration.
"It's think it's fascinating. You're sort of seeing the beginning of the third term of the Clintons because the first two years of Obama was such a failure in popular acceptance. The president finds himself drawn more and more ... to people who are Clintonites," Politico quoted Gingrich, as saying.
The former speaker of the House also said that in the recent past few months, Obama had chosen Clinton's commerce secretary Bill Daley as his White House Chief of Staff, and Jack Lew for as Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
"All of it represents an increase in power for Bill Clinton," he added.
Gingrich also claimed that the presence of Clinton's officials in the Obama administration must be annoying to supporters of Obama, adding: "It must be fascinating to be one of those left-wing activist groups that spent so much time and energy beating Hillary Clinton because they didn't want to see this kind of administration."
