Aden, May 26 (IANS) The Yemeni armed forces dismantled a booby-trapped car with a large amount of explosives in the country's Shabwa province Monday, the defence ministry said.
"Soldiers of the 19th Armoured Brigade intercepted an explosive- laden car before it reached its main target in Behan region of Shabwa. Experts of the anti-bomb disposal unit are attempting to defuse the explosives in it," Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying late evening.
A military official in Shabwa confirmed that "an Al Qaeda would-be suicide bomber was detained during the botched terrorist attack and the whole area now had been cordoned off by army soldiers".
