United Nations, April 10 (IANS) UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Wednesday deplored recent deadly terrorist attacks in Pakistan, including Wednesday's bombing of a market in the capital city of Islamabad.

"The secretary-general deplores the recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan, including today's bombing of a market in Islamabad and yesterday's attack on a train in Baluchistan, incidents that led to killing and wounding of many people," Xinhua quoted the UN chief's spokesperson citing him in a statement.

Ban extended "his deep condolences" to the families of the victims and the government of Pakistan, it added.

At least 20 people were killed and over 70 injured when a bomb went off inside a fruit market in Islamabad Wednesday morning. Both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain condemned the blast.

In another terror attack, an explosion ripped through a train in Pakistan's restive southwestern province of Baluchistan Tuesday, killing at least 14 people. Banned militant outfit United Baloch Army (UBA) claimed responsibility for the blast.
