Kabul, Feb 17 (IANS) Five militants were killed and four others wounded in a blast in Afghanistan, the country's defence ministry said Monday.
"Nine anti-government members were busy in building an improvised explosive device (IED) in Rashidan district of eastern Ghazni province. The IED went off prematurely, leaving five militants killed and four others wounded," Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
The Taliban insurgent group, which largely relies on home-made IEDs in its fight against security forces, has not made any comment on the incident.
