New Zealand beat West Indies in first T20

Auckland, Jan 11 (IANS/CMC) New Zealand defeated the West Indies by 81 runs to take the lead in the two-match Twenty20 International here Saturday.

An unbeaten 85-run sixth-wicket stand between Brendon McCullum and Luke Ronchi paved the way for the victory.

New Zealand innings: 189/5 (20 Overs). Brendon McCullum 60 not out, Luke Ronchi 48 not out, Martin Guptill 25, Colin Munro 22; Tino Best 4-0-40-3, Nikita Miller 3-0-26-2, Dwayne Bravo 4-0-24-0, Samuel Badree 4-0-25-0.
