Pak to review ties with US after Nato withdrawal

Islamabad, Dec. 27 (ANI): Pakistan would review relations with the United States after the withdrawal of Nato-led coalition forces from Afghanistan by the end of 2014, Prime Minister's Advisor on National Security Sartaj Aziz has said.

He said uncertain situation in Afghanistan was a great challenge but Pakistan was committed to work sincerely for bringing peace in that country.

Addressing a seminar on 'Rethinking National Security of Pakistan, Challenges and Opportunities' at Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Aziz added that Pakistan's top priority was to improve diplomatic relations with India.

He said that having good ties with India was mutually beneficial for South Asian neighbours.

According to the Nation, he added that improvement in economic, strategic, defence and cultural relations between the two states was directly linked to improvement in diplomatic Pak-India relationship.

He said Pakistan was now focusing on foreign policy based on promoting trade and economic relations with other countries, the report said.

He said under this policy the government was working to promote trade relations with European Union, Middle East and Russia, it added.(ANI)
