Sao Paulo, Dec 1 (IANS) Brazilian side Santos are in talks with Italian football outfit Napoli over a deal for Chile international forward Eduardo Vargas.
Vargas is currently on loan at Brazilian side Gremio from Napoli and has scored six times from 16 Campeonato Brasileiro matches this season, reports Xinhua.
Local newspaper Estado de S. Paulo reported that Santos are seeking a year-long loan for the 24-year-old but have not ruled out buying him.
Napoli, who signed Vargas from Universidad de Chile for 11 million euros in 2011, are said to have offered Santos 50 percent of the player's economic rights for six million euros.
It is understood Vargas has already told Gremio officials his wish to leave the Porto Alegre club at the end of the year.
