6 in 10 Americans think JFK's assassination was conspiracy

Washington, Sat, 16 Nov 2013 ANI

Washington, Nov. 16 (ANI): About six in 10 Americans reportedly believe that more than one person was involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and it was a conspiracy, according to a Gallup survey.

While 30 percent said Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman in the murder, 61 percent said others were involved in a conspiracy, the Washington Times reports.

Oswald was captured by Dallas police hours after the assassination on November 22, 1963, but was killed by Jack Ruby two days later and never stood trial.

The figure is actually the lowest in nearly 50 years, as 81 percent Americans believed that there was a wider conspiracy, according to 1963 survey. (ANI)
