Assange once plotted to steal ' The Fifth Estate' book

Washington, Mon, 21 Oct 2013 ANI

Washington, Oct. 21 (ANI): WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been alleged to have once attempted to steal the manuscript of the book titled 'The Fifth Estate' on which the movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch is based.

It has been found that in 2011, Assange allegedly ordered a friend of WikiLeaks, Bradley Manning to steal the book's manuscript written by Domscheit-Berg, his former associate.

According to Mashable, Assange allegedly asked David House, co-founder of The Private Manning Support Network, to go to Berlin and steal the manuscript from Domscheit-Berg's apartment.

In a bid to gain Assange's trust in the hopes of embarking on collaboration, House did visit Domscheit-Berg's apartment, but was unable to lay his hands on the manuscript and returned without it to Assange, who was holed up in London.

The report said that for Domscheit-Berg, the plot was another sign of Assange's vendetta against him as the latter once referred to the author as his 'adversary', adding that such a revelation was a 'new low'. (ANI)
