Washington, Oct. 1 (ANI): A hotel in Sydney, touted to be the world's first-ever 'Instagram hotel' has some of the best photogenic surroundings for its guests, and to top it all, has a free night's stay offer for those who have more than 10,000 followers on the site.

Sydney's 90-room new 1888 Hotel, has undergone a meticulous 28 million dollar restoration and is inspired by the photo-sharing app Instagram, with ample space blending the original wool store architecture with the colourful and vibrant artwork.

CEO of the hotel, Paul Fischmann said that the style of the building and its heritage was very important, to make it appear a cool hotel with all the elements.

According to CNN, the hotel has freestanding bathtubs and recycled timber desks in rooms and nearly every angle of the 1888 provides a photo opp for Instagrammers.

Taking inspiration from the year 1888, when the hotel's building that earlier served as wool store, and Kodak patented its first box and roll cameras, the hotel has two screens in reception displaying a constantly updated feed of images guests have uploaded to Instagram using the #1888hotel hashtag.

The report said that the hotel has a dedicated 'selfie space', Insta-walk maps, an iPad for each room, from where guests can order room service, in-room media hubs where guests can review their Instagram pics before upload among others.

FIschmann said that people are really embracing the idea of playing around social media site Instagram's 'selfie' space and the hotel's monthly competitions.

Each month the guest who has snapped the best Instagram picture during their visit also gets a free night's accommodation, the report added. (ANI)
