World urges Pakistan to act against terrorists

Islamabad , Tue, 24 Sep 2013 ANI

Islamabad, Sept. 24 (ANI): The United Nations (UN) and the European Union (EU), along with several nations, have condemned the Sunday attack on All Saints Church in Peshawar and have urged Pakistan to take action against terrorists.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that such barbaric acts are against the tenets of every religion, the Daily Times reports.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said this violent act, targeting defenceless minorities, is totally unacceptable. He also reaffirmed the minorities to freely exercise their rights.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said such attacks, which targets innocent civilians, reflects enmity with the humanity.

EU High Representative Catherine Ashton called the Pakistan government to take stronger action to ensure the protection of all its citizens, regardless of their religion or belief. (ANI)
